Margaret — “The Boss” — spent 40 years working as a librarian at the University of Amsterdam. A passionate traveler, she explored much of South America and Africa before finding her heart’s home on the Kenyan coast.
In 2003, she purchased a plot in the small village of Msumarini. With tireless dedication, she transformed the rocky landscape into a thriving, colorful garden oasis. Margaret is passionate about gardening, deeply enjoys reading, and once was a fanatic Latin dancer, full of rhythm and energy.
Zablon
Zablon, the caretaker, has deep roots in coastal Kenya. Having worked for many years in luxury hotels in Lamu, he chose to return closer to his family in Msumarini as he grew older. With an exceptional eye for detail, a warm personality, and vast local knowledge, Zablon has been an essential part of Zablon’s Boss for over eight years.
Together, Margaret and Zablon create an atmosphere of comfort, authenticity, and genuine hospitality.
